Rooted here, shared together
Gathering in Nova Scotia carries a certain ease. Maybe it’s the salt air, the slower pace, or the way people naturally make room for one another, but moments shared in our province tend to feel a little more grounded, a little more genuine.
At Fireside Meadery, community has always been at the heart of what we do.
From the beginning, mead was never meant to be kept to ourselves. It was something passed between family, friends, and neighbours poured generously, enjoyed slowly, and always accompanied by good conversation.
That spirit continues to guide us. Whether we’re setting up at a local market, welcoming familiar faces, or meeting someone new for the first time, each interaction becomes part of the story we’re building.
Some events are lively, filled with music and movement. Others are quieter just a few people, a shared table, and time to slow down.
We’ve come to appreciate both.
From seasonal celebrations to intimate tastings, each gathering carries its own kind of warmth. What matters most isn’t the size, but the feeling; welcoming, unhurried, and easy to settle into.
Some of our favourite gatherings are farmers’ markets. There’s a convivial charm to them, people are welcoming, quick to lend a hand, and local regulars often return to build lasting relationships with their favourite vendors. Farmers’ markets are where community is built, one conversation at a time.
Being part of this community means more than simply showing up, it means supporting, collaborating, and growing alongside others who care deeply about what they create.
We’re continually inspired by the makers, artists, and small businesses around us, from our building mates at The Witches of Saltwater Marsh Studio and the Eastern Shore Cooperator, to neighbouring businesses like Steeple Green Books and Martinique Desserterie. Each brings something unique and meaningful to this stretch of the community, and we’re grateful to share space alongside them whenever we can.
There’s always room for one more.
Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are just discovering us now, you’re part of this story too. We hope that when you share a bottle of our mead, wherever you are, you feel a small connection to this place, and to the people who make it what it is.
